Philosophy Naturalis Principia Mathematica (Mathematical Principles of Natural Philosophy), often shortened to Principia, is a famous work written by the English scientist Sir Isaac Newton. This book was first published in 1687 and is one of the most influential works in the history of science. In this work, Newton put forward the laws of motion and the law of universal gravitation which formed the basis of classical mechanics and changed the world’s view of the universe.

The Principia is a monumental work that introduced many important concepts in physics, mathematics, and natural philosophy. In it, Newton formulated three laws of motion that are now known as Newton’s Laws. He also proposed the law of universal gravitation, which explains how objects in the universe attract each other with a gravitational force proportional to the mass of each object and inversely proportional to the square of the distance between them.
